Narkanda
About
Narkanda sits at 2,708 m on the Hindustan-Tibet Road, 65 km from Shimla, at the heart of Himachal's apple belt. In autumn (September–October), the hillsides are heavy with red and golden apples. In winter, Narkanda's Hatu ski slope attracts beginner skiers before most major Indian ski resorts open. Hatu Peak (3,400 m), a 5 km trek from town, offers views of peaks from the Himachal-Uttarakhand border to the Spiti ranges.
