About

Spread across five rolling hills at 2,036 m, Dalhousie is a Victorian-era hill station named after Lord Dalhousie, the British Governor-General. The town retains authentic colonial character — stone churches, tile-roofed bungalows, and oak-lined pathways. Subhash Chandra Bose lived here briefly before Indian independence. Dalhousie is typically combined with Khajjiar (24 km) and Chamba (80 km) for a comprehensive northern Himachal circuit.
