Kasol sits on the banks of the Parvati River at 1,640 m, at the heart of the Parvati Valley — Himachal's most countercultural and internationally diverse destination. The town's eclectic mix of Israeli, European, and Indian backpackers has created a unique cafe culture unlike anywhere else in the Indian Himalayas. Beyond the cafes, Kasol is the trailhead for the Kheerganga trek to natural hot springs, the gateway to Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara (the golden temple of the mountains), and the base for exploring Malana, Tosh, and Rasol villages up-valley.
